Slaughterhouse Five

Slaughterhouse-Five by Kurt Vonnegut (No Spoilers)

Source

This book was quite a ride! Until reading this book, I didn't realize how influential Vonnegut is on today's modern literature and film. I enjoyed that Vonnegut's writing style had echoes of Chuck Palahniuk throughout. I loved the Tarantino-esque jumping around of plot and his strong, pungent anti-war message. In fact, I even enjoyed that Billie Pilgrim's musings on time were very similar to those found in the Time Traveler's Wife.

Slaughterhouse-Five definitely deserves a re-read on my end, but I'll probably wait until I'm further along on my reading list...

"Everything was beautiful and nothing hurt."
